Do Creative People In Business Do Better?
Everyone knows that the business world is a tough place to get ahead. Somehow you need to figure out how to look good, stand out from a crowd and do great at your job(s) all at the same time! It can be stressful, but fret not, there are ways to easily get everything accomplished all at once.
Creative people in business have been known to become very successful. However, that statement is more directed toward those who are unique and strange, but are still tolerable, not the ones who fly off the wagon and lose their mind. There’s only a certain amount of unusual characteristics we can handle.
Lady Gaga is a good example of an individual who is creative but tolerably so. A middle-schooler who strove to create a hit company of making website templates is also a good example. Also think about Christopher Nolan and Stephen Spielberg, two filmmakers who have made amazing movies. Then there’re authors like Stephen King and Anna Rice who were ahead of their time. No matter how you look at it, each person did something that made them stand out from the crowd.
However, the above mentioned individuals are celebrities that anyone can know about. The big problem is standing out without necessarily becoming photographed by all the paparazzi. Goals within most common people societies are different. For example, corporate workers may want to be noticed about others in a business meeting. They should pitch a unique idea in order to accomplish that goal.
Either way, remember that it’s important to be strategic when being creative. You don’t want to throw others off guard too much. To start off, you could dress like the rest, but maybe add a little difference here and there. You can have a different hairstyle, or make-up or even a few accessories here and there. However, to make the biggest impression, your personality is what matters most.
A persons’ personality is, most times, what makes or breaks a relationship. In order to form good business connections, try to think of new, refreshing and appealing ways to keep yourself interesting, but not awkward. Try to keep on the right side of everyone as much as possible, too. Refrain from making fools of your coworkers, etc.
All in all, creative people in business know how to be on top without necessarily demeaning others. They keep others on their toes, but too terribly so that everyone tips over. And, finally, they know where limits are while still being able to effectively do their job.
